Landmark 81 Makes Debut as One of Saigon’s Spots for Firework Display

Saigon’s Tet firework show will be extra festive this year.

On Monday, January 28, Ho Chi Minh City administration announced that to celebrate the upcoming Year of the Pig, the city will have firework displays at eight spots across town on New Year’s Eve, according to VnExpress. Apart from usual favorites like the Saigon River Tunnel in District 2 or Dam Sen Amusement Park in District 11, this year marks the debut of Landmark 81 as a platform of the display.

Completed in July last year, Landmark 81 is currently the tallest building in Vietnam, standing at over 460 meters tall. You can have a look at the high-rise’s monumental escalation through this 30-second time-lapse here.

Lunar New Year’s Eve this year falls on Monday, February 4. The rest of the firework displays will take place at the Ethnic History-Culture Park in District 9, Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District, Can Gio District Administrative Center, Hiep Phuoc Industrial Complex in Nha Be District, and the Military Headquarters in Binh Chanh District.
